COUNTY OF LIVINGSTON (Full Time) EMPLOYEES UNIT
CSEA Members,
Your CSEA Negotiation Team entered into negotiations with the County of Livingston for a successor agreement near the end of last year. Your Negotiation Team went into this dialogue with two major goals, protect your benefits and to get a fair wage increase. Despite these reasonable goals, the County has demanded concessions that would have a negative impact on many members' salaries. In addition, the County has stood by proposals that take current Union Represented Members out of the bargaining unit and leaves them with no representation. Your Negotiation Team has taken a firm stand on the following issues:
* WE WILL not abandon current CSEA Members by removing them from the Unit.
* WE WILL not support proposals that will cut the salaries of our members.
* WE WILL not support management proposals that will weaken the Union.
* WE WILL not support proposals that reduce the rights of CSEA members.
At Union meetings and information sessions held by your Union Officers and members of your Negotiation Team, CSEA members have voiced support for these reasonable Union positions. It is now time to stand behind your Negotiation Team and protect our benefits and rights. WE will continue to communicate to the membership, the status of negotiations. Because of the management negotiation team's intransient position, CSEA has found it necessary to declare impasse in our current negotiations. Now we need your support! It is time for the membership of this unit to stand by your Negotiation Team and send management this message: WE DEMAND A FAIR CONTRACT NOW!. Stay tuned for more activities and developments.
